Thinking of taking a trip with WildFishing Guide Service?
Here is what you need to know.
Boat trips on Northern Michigan's inland lakes:
First and most importantly for your safety, I am a licensed, fully insured fishing guide, certified with a ‘State of Michigan Operator License for Inland Passenger Vessels’. (Proper licensing is something you should make sure all of your guides and charters have). My boat, the ‘Miss-Guided’, is inspected by the State of Michigan's Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and is certified as a charter boat. As a guest with WildFishing Guide Service, you are fully insured the moment you step off the dock.
We'll be fishing from a safe, comfortable, 18-foot Mirro Craft aluminum deep-V boat, powered by clean, quiet, 140-hp 4-stroke Johnson outboard motor and 9.9-hp 4-stroke Johnson kicker motor. The boat and outboards were all new in 2004. This boat is loaded to the gills with accessories like: Lowrance electronics, Minn-Kota electric trolling motor, Fishlander downriggers, and the like.
All fishing gear is provided by WildFishing Guide Service with the exception of chest waders, which you’ll need if wade fishing. You'll be fishing with top quality equipment from companies you know, like: Pflueger, Shakespeare, Berkley, Fishlander, Cajun, plus much, much more.
When do we start fishing? Well, you're the boss here. Perhaps an early-morning bite would suit you best, or, an evening or night trip. All trips with WildFishing Guide Service are at least 6 hours. Very rarely, however, do I ever time them. In other words, be prepared... some trips may last longer than 6 hours.
What if more then two anglers want to go?
No problem! There are a few other licensed and insured guides in the area which we can hire. Prices will be per boat, and will be the same as WildFishing Guide Service's.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. In case of bad weather (guides call… we don't do lightning or gale force winds!) or a cancellation on your behalf, your trip may be moved to another OPEN date.
- Boat Fishing - One or Two Angler(s): $375 (Because we do a lot of casting, boat trips are limited to two anglers.)
- For three to four boat anglers add $375 for the other guide boat.
- Three Anglers: (wade fishing) $400.00
- Four Anglers: (wade fishing) $425.00
Payment can be made by check, good old-fashioned cash (remember: do not send cash via the mail!) or credit card via the Internet's PayPal Website. It's easy and free! Just go to www.paypal.com, sign up, go to "Send Money" and make payment to my account - firstname.lastname@example.org.
What you will need:
Even with most everything provided, there are a few things you will need, like: your fishing Michigan license, which you can purchase in town, or from the homepage of the Michigan DNR, at www.michigan.gov/dnr (look for the orange 'Hunting and Fishing Licenses' button on the left-hand side of their homepage), proper clothing, sunscreen, polarized sun glasses, and something to munch on and drink. All are up to you.
As always, if there are ANY other questions, do not hesitate to e-mail or call, anytime. WildFishing Guide Service can always help you find a place to stay, too. Hotels, motels, resorts, cabins, campgrounds... the area has 'em all!
