Fishing Report
Lake Michigan/Frankfort Tuesday August 25, 2009
Via another friend’s boat, we trolled spoons, plugs, and flashers and flies Sunday morning (August 23) off the port of Frankfort. The catching was okay.
We landed three chinooks of about 15 pounds each, lost a couple more salmon, and caught and released one over-sized lake trout. From the stories and actual results we heard and saw at the fish cleaning station, this was the average number of fish coming in.
Early on, two of the salmon came on glow J-Plugs and one on a white Hootchie Mamma with a glow tinsel fly. All those fish were 90 to 100 feet down.
Late in the morning our fish came on spoons pulled behind 12 colors lead core.
While at the fish cleaning station, we saw several salmon jumping in Betsie Bay. There have been salmon in the Betsie River since late July.
As always, BE SAFE ON THE WATER!
